SLIC Pins™

Description
Self-Locking Implanted Cotter ("SLIC") Pins™ feature a self-contained, spring-loaded plunger which acts as an automatic cotter pin.

Features
As a pin and cotter all in one, SLIC Pins™ install many times faster than most other threaded and non-threaded solutions. The spring-loaded plunger locks positively into place to retain the pin in the application. Two plunger styles are available: the "standard" plunger provides maximum plunger height to retain the pin. The "removable" style plunger offers a radiused plunger tip, still offering a positive hold but bridging small gaps during removal. SLIC Pins™ reduce the risk of miss-installation during assembly, require no tools, and there is no secondary cotter/clip/nut to fall off while the product is in service.

Applications
Used in any application as an alternative to pins and cotters, nuts and bolts (where axial tensioning not required), e-clips/external retaining rings, and hinge pins. Also may be used as a stand-off or quick-connect solution.

Available in imperial and metric diameters ranging from 3/16" to 3/4", lengths as required.

Materials and Finishes
Pin Body: As required. Typically low carbon steel (zinc plated) or stainless steel. Can also be made in Grade 5, Grade 8, aluminum, and other materials. Nearly any finish can be applied. Maximum hardness of Rockwell C40. Plunger: 316 series stainless steel. Spring: 300 series stainless steel
